Text recorded with this division

Malcolm Roberts

I move the second reading amendment on sheet No. 4176:

At the end of the motion, add ", but the Senate notes that aged care providers:

(a) should have the right to refuse to provide a voluntary assisted dying process in relation to any resident in their care;

(b) must advise all residents and applicants of any policy to refuse to provide a voluntary assisted dying process; and

(c) must take reasonable steps to ensure the transfer of any resident who then wishes to secure a position with a different provider".

Sue Lines

The question is that the second reading amendment as moved by Senator Roberts be agreed to.

This is the question as put in the chamber, with the name of the member who spoke before the vote. It isn't a summary of the bill or motion.
