Maria Kovacic

At the request of Senator McKenzie, I seek leave to amend general business notice of motion No. 764.

Leave granted.

I move the motion as amended:

That—

(a) the Senate notes that:

(i) on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, the Senate agreed to order for the production of documents no. 678, relating to projects as part of the Major and Local Community Infrastructure Program, requiring the Minister representing the Prime Minister to comply by midday on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, and

(ii) the order has not been complied with; and

(b) the Senate requires the Minister representing the Prime Minister to attend the Senate on Wednesday 14 October 2026, immediately before government business is called on, to provide an explanation, of no more than 5 minutes, of the failure to comply with the order, and that:

(i) any senator may move to take note of the explanation, and

(ii) any such motion may be debated for no longer than 30 minutes and shall have precedence over all other business until determined, and senators may speak to the motion for not more than 5 minutes each.

Slade Brockman

The question is that the motion moved by Senator Kovacic be agreed to.

This is the question as put in the chamber, with the name of the member who spoke before the vote. It isn't a summary of the bill or motion.
